A quick look back into American history and we find the building of the Manhattan Bridge in 1909, taken by Irving Underhill. This suspension bridge connects Lower Manhattan with Brooklyn, and towers over the East River, and was the last of the three iconic bridges be built over the East River. It has also been featured in popular culture on various occasions, such as in the last Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, and is also featured prominently in Peter Jackson’s, King Kong.
