MUSIC – Nostalgic 90’s Top 25 Countdown

The Naughty Nineties – The Best Era There Was

Continuing on from our ‘Flashback Friday‘ post, we thought we’d travel a little further back in time, to the 90’s. With Meatloaf, Britney Spears and Smashing Pumpkins (just to name a few); your favourite song hopefully made the cut.

The 90’s was an era known for change; not only in history but in music. The hit 80’s tracks had been and gone, and post-1990 bands and artists were stretching out their wings and begun to experiment with different styles, beats and genres. What resulted is a multitude of iconic songs that we’ll continue to belt out at birthdays, and dance to in the nostalgic nightclubs. So, we proudly present to you Ezra Magazine’s Top 25 songs from the 90’s. Enjoy!

1. “Bittersweet Symphony” – The Verve

This was a very tough choice on deciding number one, as the 90’s play such an important element into my music taste. From the raunchy clothes, and the songs that make you wan’t to get up and dance, “Bittersweet Symphony” was something else. The Verve’s triumphant return after one of their myriad splits was marked by a new ‘The’ in front of their name, which proved to be much of a success.
