FEATURED – Aussie band ‘Gunns’

Garage ‘Surf-Pop’

Perth is exploding with musical talent. Amongst the psychedelic Tame Impala and Pond emerge three piece Gunns. Over the last few years they have slowly been developing their ‘garage surf pop’ sound.

The trio started by experimenting with electronic drum samples and a fuzz pedal until they found the sound they were looking for. Gunn’s latest single “Live by the Sea” is full of lo-fi goodness. Reverberated vocals float underneath distorted guitars which creates a feeling of nostalgia.

Having already played alongside bands such as The Preatures and Violent Soho, Gunns are a band on the rise. Keep an eye out for their début album which they are hoping to release next year.

Gunns will be launching their 7″ “Live by the Sea” on November 16 at the Odd Fellow in Fremantle, WA.
