What’s up Adelaide? Are you ready to be completely covered in colours? It\u2019s time to paint the town<\/span> red<\/span><\/strong>\u2026 pink<\/span><\/strong>, yellow<\/span><\/strong> and<\/span> blue<\/strong><\/span> on Sunday May 19, 2013 when\u00a0The Swisse Color Run cruises into town to cover the people of Adelaide in its multi-coloured\u00a0glory. The five kilometre run is a ‘fun run with a <\/span>colourful<\/strong><\/span> twist’. Participants of all ages and fitness levels will be\u00a0<\/span>covered in colour by the time\u00a0they’ve\u00a0completed the course, located at the home of the V8\u00a0<\/span>Supercars, Victoria Park Racecourse; it\u2019s a seriously colourful experience!<\/span><\/p>\n UPDATE: Our image gallery from Sunday May 19 at the Victoria park Racecourse can be found here: <\/span>The Swisse Color Run<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Inspired in part by the Hindu Ho<\/span>li festival, with its tradition of welcoming Spring by throwing natural\u00a0coloured powders, The Swisse Colour Run guarantees a truly memorable experience as runners\u00a0are showered in blue, yellow, orange and pink coloured powder at each kilometre stage, (made\u00a0from 100% natural and safe food grade corn starch), turning their pristine white attire into a\u00a0rainbow explosion of colours!\u00a0Founded in the USA in January 2012, The Color Run kicked off its Australian tour in Melbourne in\u00a0November 2012 as The Swisse Color Run. With Sydney, Perth, the\u00a0Gold Coast and Newcastle already\u00a0having become multi-colored in\u00a0February, April and early May 2013, The Swisse Color Run will be visiting Adelaide on Sunday May 19 at the Victoria Racecourse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Affectionately known as \u2018The Happiest 5k on the Planet\u2019, The Swisse Color Run marks the launch\u00a0<\/span>of Swisse\u2019s charitable arm, The Celebrate Life Foundation.\u00a0<\/span>The Celebrate Life Foundation aims to raise funds that contribute to the promotion of health and\u00a0<\/span>happiness across Australia. Swisse hopes that the foundation can generate more than $1 million in\u00a0<\/span>charitable contributions over the next 12 months through The Swisse Color Run, and other\u00a0<\/span>fundraising efforts.\u00a0<\/span>The Celebrate Life Foundation is pleased to announce that Make-A-Wish Australia will partner\u00a0<\/span>with them as the joint major charity for the Adelaide event.<\/span><\/p>\n Make-A-Wish Australia is an\u00a0organisation which grants the wishes of children and young people with life-threatening medical\u00a0conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.\u00a0<\/span>The Foundation, in conjunction with The Swisse Color Run, will make a donation to Make-A-Wish\u00a0Australia at the conclusion of the event, and encourage all The Swisse Color Run participants to\u00a0join them in raising funds through the Everyday Hero website.\u00a0National Manager Luke Hannan said, \u201cWe are delighted to bring this truly unique event to\u00a0Adelaide. The Swisse Color Run is not a race \u2013 it\u2019s not about competing or running a personal\u00a0<\/span>best, it\u2019s about connecting with friends and family, being active and enjoying yourself.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Kicking off at 9:00am, \u00a0and then continue in a staggered fashion, with waves of 1,000 participants\u00a0released approximately every five minutes thereafter.\u00a0Adelaide event entries are limited to 10,000 and are expected to sell quickly, just as previous\u00a0events have – including sellout events thus far in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.\u00a0Color Runners can enter The Swisse Color Run as individuals, or register as a team of four or\u00a0more.\u00a0Once runners complete the course, the fun and festivities continue with the \u2018Finish Festival\u2019. A\u00a0coloured extravaganza of epic proportions featuring music and a family-friendly party atmosphere,\u00a0celebrations culminate in a mass throw of colour powder packets, creating a cloud of rainbow\u00a0colours.
