Here at Ezra Magazine we are happy to announce that we will be a part of the media representation at the Adelaide Fringe in 2014.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 30 day open-access event running from February 14 – March 16 attracts crowds of more than 1.5 million people over the four weeks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

‘Open-access’ means that anyone with an event, exhibition or show can register with the Adelaide Fringe, allowing an influx of performers and artists from not only Australia but from around the globe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With various art forms including cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, visual art and design, the Adelaide Fringe is when the city and surrounding suburbs truly come alive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over 900 events have already been registered to take part in the 2014 event and there truly is something for everyone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where is the Adelaide Fringe 2014?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The Adelaide Fringe is not in one particular place but held in various venues across the state. The most popular venue that attracts thousands is the Garden of Unearthly Delights, which is a separately run venue from the Fringe but houses performers from the event. The Garden of Unearthly Delights is located on the corner of Rundle Rd and East Tce. When purchasing tickets to shows, next to the name of the show will be the venue location.<\/span><\/p>\n

What type of events are at the Adelaide Fringe?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

As well as the ticketed events the city becomes full of street performers, buskers, free sideline acts plus a plethora of things to see and do. The categories that events are placed into are\u00a0cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, puppetry, music, visual art and design. The free events that the Adelaide Fringe provides to enliven the city includes:<\/span><\/p>\n

Fringe Parade<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a hugely popular iconic event that is the hallmark celebration heralding the start of Adelaide Fringe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spirit Festival<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 produced by Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, the Spirit Festival celebrates Australia\u2019s indigenous culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fringe Street Theatre Festival<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a curated \u2018mini-festival within a festival\u2019, held over the long weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fringe in the Mall<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 is the central place where Adelaide Fringe artists publicly showcase and promote their events.<\/span><\/p>\n
