The SA Government announced it will establish 12 border crossings where travellers will need to sign and declare they are fit for travel and must undertake self-isolation for two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The border controls will apply to all road, air, rail and sea access points and police will patrol the 12 border crossings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These new measures will go into effect at 4.00pm on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a press conference this afternoon Premier Steven Marshall said they had received advice from the chief public health officer in South Australia to close the borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“What we have seen in recent days is an increasing number of people who have contracted the virus from people visiting from interstate, or South Australians who have been interstate returning to South Australia,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SA Health is expected to hold a press conferenced this afternoon to announce new COVID-19 cases in South Australia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is no word from the Premier as to whether schools in South Australia will remain open over the coming days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
