Superfood are bringing back Britpop with their 90’s throwback sound. The four piece indie rock band from Birmingham, England appeared on the scene in late 2012. With no singles, videos or even a Facebook page they gained a fierce live reputation playing under monikers such as Baby 100 and Juunk.
While fellow B-Town acts such as Peace and Swim Deep dominated in 2013 there’s something different about Superfood. Noisy guitars, shrieking vocals and playful hooks have attracted comparisons to Blur which can’t a bad thing at all. Their latest offering “TV” is three minutes of mayhem and retro goodness.
We don’t know what they are feeding them up there in Birmingham but it’s working. Superfood are in for a stella year with their debut EP ‘MAM’ set to be released on March 3 via Infectious Music and they arealso working on their debut album.
